The New (100% Certified) Plan

We are still not engaged. We have, however, chosen where & generally when we're getting married!

Depending on a lot of stuff, the date range is between mid-April to early June.

The location... Hawaii!
The ceremony will be either at Halona Beach Cove (aka Cockroach Cove) or one cliff away at Sandy's (aka Sandy Beach Park).

Sandy beach park, Oahu.

Sandy's was my favorite beach during my three months of living in Hawaii, and I've even painted a picture of it. It's hanging about two feet above me over my computer desk. Cockroach Cove is just an awesome place anyway, where once when we hiked down there we saw a sea turtle & I swear I saw a tiny octopus. Anyway both spots are beautiful, and it will probably just depend on how many people are around that day!

(You might recognize Cockroach Cove from Lost or 50 First Dates.)

Since we'll be getting married in Hawaii, we aren't sure yet whether our parents will be joining us. It looks right now like they won't. So to fill the roles of officiant, witness, matron of honor & good friends, we're hoping to have David and Erin Burr join us for our ceremony. Dave will be our officiant and the lovely Mrs. Burr will be my Matron of Honor! This isn't completely confirmed yet, but providing they end up being in Hawaii at the time, it should work. Missionaries, you know. You just can't pin them down ;)

We have also picked out our hotel after a few days of searching different sites and debating over the necessity of a lanai... we picked Hotel Renew.

The asian/modern decor is what I'm all about & Daniel loves that they have lanais and we can get an ocean view - all for under $140 a night.

We'll be renting a jeep wrangler to get around in as well. I can't wait to be able to show Daniel all of the awesome places in and around Honolulu. Plus I still haven't seen Pearl Harbor & I definitely need to.

So in total, we'll be spending a week in Hawaii, getting married on a weekday, and since I'm not one to miss an opportunity, we'll be shooting some family pictures of Dave, Erin & the not-yet-arrived-Baby Burr while we're there.

When we get back we're going to have some sort of party or reception where we can show everyone our pictures & I can wear my dress again (yes- I'm still getting a real dress dangit). It's all tbd, but if anyone has any location suggestions (coffee shops, free places, etc) we're all ears.
